Tandalay Physical Education Program -  Tandalay Curriculum and Instruction provides  comprehensive physical activity and physical education programs for grades Pre K - Grade 8. The Tandalay Program is about the total experience. School’s Copier Expenses (paper, maintenance and supplies) -  Although we’re trying to reduce the amount of paper used, our copiers remain vital to our teachers and staff for instruction and communication. 


Arts Parents Program -  AV’s Arts Parents work collaboratively with our teachers to share interesting, imaginative and relevant art projects with our students.  The goal of Arts Parents is to have a parent volunteer in each classroom, several times a month, to connect creative projects with curriculum and to augment instruction provided by our itinerant art instructor.


School Assemblies -  From Chinese acrobats to blues musicians our assemblies span the spectrum of cultural enrichment.  Children at AV are given several opportunities throughout the year to have their horizons broadened and to be inspired by visiting performers.


Art Fair -  One of our favorites, where creativity and ingenuity reign!


Reflections - A nationwide student arts competition where students can share their vision in the categories of Literature, Musical Composition, Photography, Visual Arts, Dance/Choreography and Film/Video Production.  Please click here for more details.


Red Ribbon Week - Health, fitness and the importance of making good choices are highlighted all this week and encouraged all year.


Holiday Craft Fair -  Students create unique handcrafted gifts for family and friends.


Science Fair - Where AV students and the scientific method meet.  (Lab coat optional.)


Wellness - From nutrition to exercise and . . . beyond . . . our Wellness Committee is dedicated to helping all of our children develop and maintain healthy bodies and healthy minds.


Safety -  PTA is a strong believer and supporter of safe routes to school.  AV is always looking for safer, more efficient ways to conduct our morning drop off and afternoon pick up.


Winter Program - Our Winter Program is evolving into a dynamic opportunity for our students to experience music, performance and community on a very rewarding level.  Much planning and preparation goes into the selection of music, assisting musicians, stage design and materials for this special event.


All City Track Meet - Every Spring AV students have a chance to compete with other South Pasadena elementary students in running, jumping and cheering on their teammates.


Community Building -  Picnics, movie nights and more.  AV families come together to catch up.


Talent Show -   AV students shine in many ways and our annual talent show gives them a chance to strut their stuff in their own unique way.  Contributions help support stage design, programs and any miscellaneous materials needed to let the magic happen!

Grants Committee -  Always on the lookout for funding sources to enhance all our students’ educational experience.


Disaster Preparedness -  In the event of an emergency, AV keeps supplies on hand for every child.


Read Across America -  AV celebrates author Theodore Geisel, a.k.a., Dr. Seuss, with a week’s worth of local celebrity readings, art projects and a parade.  


Advocacy - PTA is committed to supporting our children in all areas of their life.  Local units join State and National PTA in lobbying for the health, safety and education of all our our children. 


Second Step -  Parent Volunteers provide our students with opportunities to discuss our core values of respect, diversity and integrity.


School Beautification -  Adding a little extra shine to our campus.


Sports Day - Everyone participates in an afternoon of exercise and activity.


Community Outreach  - Bringing our diverse cultures together and helping everyone get, and stay, connected.


Fifth Grade Promotion - Yearbook, photos, and an end of year party help mark our students’ transition to middle school
